Bob - of Hamtramck,
Michigan became a member of DRAGON in 2006. He has been involved with
canaries since 1983 and began breeding American Singers in February of 2006.
Bob owns a variety of birds, including hook bills.
Ray Brinks- of
Falmouth, Michigan has been an associate DRAGON member since 2001 and
involved with canaries since 1978. He has been breeding and exhibiting
canaries since 2001. He also breeds Red Factors: bronze, brown, agate,
isabel, and lipochrome clears.
Jessie Durkin- of Wixom, Michigan has
been a member of DRAGON since the very first meeting in 1981. Involved with
canaries since 1981, she bred six Grand Champions and won the Clifford
Williams award (presented to the breeder with the most show points each
year) four times. Jessie is an ASC Master Breeder and was awarded the Order
of the DRAGON. She also bred Northern Dutch Frill canaries. Jessie has
held all DRAGON offices over the years and served as the national American
Singers Club Secretary/Treasurer for six years. She has also served on a
number of national club committees, including the Constitution committee. In
addition, Jessie has worked extensively over the years as show secretary for
numerous ASC chapters and for the National Cage Bird Show’s American Singer
section. Although she no longer breeds birds, she is still involved with
several clubs and intends to continue to promote AS canaries to the public
and to other bird fanciers.
Ron Girling- of Warren, Michigan, has been raising and exhibiting birds for several years with great success. Currently Ron is raising American Singer canaries. He is presently serving as DRAGON's Treasurer. Ron is also a member of ASC Chapter 6 - Chicago. Emily May- located
in the New York City area. She has been a DRAGON member since 2000 and
involved with canaries since 1998. She states that she “joined DRAGON to
learn more about the world of canary care and breeding.” She is most
interested in medical research regarding canaries and the treatment of
illnesses and conditions affecting canaries and hopes one day a vaccination
for psittacosis will be found. In 2006, Emily was awarded the "Friend of
DRAGON" award for exceptional support of the club and its activities.
Ed Medrano- of Chicago, Illinois. Ed
has been breeding canaries for 15-20 years beginning with German Rollers. In
the past, he has bred German Rollers, Spanish Timbradoes, American Singers, and Belgian
Waterslagers. At the present time he is breeding American Singers, German Rollers, and
Waterslagers. Ed has served as the national American Singers Club Secretary
& Treasurer and presently serves the ASC as the Secretary/Treasurer for 2009-2012. In

Alberta Riedel- of Redford Township,
Michigan has been a member of DRAGON since 1987. She has bred canaries for
25 years, beginning with Red Factors. Alberta became an American Singer
Master Breeder in 1995, won the Cliff Williams award in 1998, and has won
the Kellogg award at the National Cage Bird Show twice- in 1993 and in 1999.
She has raised three grand champions. Alberta has served as advisor for the
national ASC and as DRAGON Treasurer.
Marie Russell is
located near Flint, Michigan. An ASC and DRAGON member since 2001,
she has served the club as President, newsletter editor, website editor, and
Librarian for DRAGON She currently serves as President, Newsletter Editor, Librarian and Website
Editor. She is also a member of Chapter 7 of the ASC, for which she serves
as Website Editor & Newsletter Editor presently. She has several websites:

she was awarded the Order of the DRAGON. Marie serves the membership of the national ASC as Newsletter Editor for the term 2009-2012.
Charlie Schembri- of
Livonia, Michigan became a member of DRAGON in 2006. He has been involved
with canaries since 1964. In addition to breeding American Singers, he
breeds Border and Fife canaries.
Judy Snider- of Livonia, Michigan. Judy
is one of the founding members of DRAGON She has been breeding
American Singer canaries since 1979 and involved with canaries since 1960.
In addition to being awarded the Order of the Dragon in 1988, Judy is an
American Singer Master Breeder, a two-time Kellogg winner, and has bred
three Grand Champions including two birds that are tied for the American
Singers Club record for most points earned by a bird (57 points). Judy has
bred and shown Border and Roller canaries (also serving as a Border canary
judge for many years) but is presently concentrating on American Singers.
She served three terms as American Singers Club President, and three terms
as a Nominator and Advisor. Judy holds the distinction of presently being
the longest-serving American Singer Club judge. Judy states that “the
American Singer is the best song canary, the bird “with imagination’, and
the “thinking man’s choice”.
Roger Stroman-
of Vermillion, Ohio has been involved with psittacine birds from 1969 to
1986 and then canaries from 1999 to the present. Roger has been an
associate member of DRAGON since 2000. His real passion is American Singer
canaries which he actively competes with each fall in about 6 or 7 shows in
the Midwest. He also breeds red factor, recessive whites, and Columbus Fancy
